    Do i need to take off the dash? Sorry I'm a noobie when it comes to cars.

    You don't take the dash off. That takes half a day. Just look under the dash, around the pedals. There's a black plastic panel secured by a couple of plastic thumb-screws, quarter turn each and it comes right off. Look up in there for the steering colum nut. You need a bigish spanner to turn it, and someone to hold the steering wheel. Not too tight, I forget what the torque spec is.

    Did anybody read Bumers original post or am I going mad?
    How did his "Rear differential/rough idle" post turn into a 'steering nut' thread?

    yeah mate i did and im just goin with the flow quite amusing really or maybe theres something were not getting, maybe its a left hand drive thing and the power sterrings connected to the diff?

    how and where did the differential crack? I cant imagine that...did you see the damaged case?
