I've been searching this forum about rim painting, but really didn't find the answers I was looking for.
I’m trying to paint my stock style 6es. I will be using DupliColor High performance Wheel Coating. But before I do that, what is the best way to get rid off the old finish? Do I really have to remove the rubber from the rim. And what is the best way to get a polished lip? Regular polishing or use silver coating? Locking for experiences, any advices?

if you want to redo your wheels I would strip em all the way down with aircraft paint remover, available at walmart but will be called aircraft remover. Take it down to the bare finish and get to polishing, by the time your done you will think you have chrome wheels.
Well, I tink I gonna take them off, and strip them all the way. Can I put clear coat on a polished lip, or I got to paint it silver?
Eric -- Can you provide some more details on this procedure? My wheels have some blemishes that I'd like to fix, but I know nothing about wheel refinishing...
