Too Sweet! If I was not putting two boys through college I would be putting some bids on this one.

    "performance enhanced by..."

An extra 60 HP from exhaust (not even headers I think), chip and a sprocket?

Highly doubtful! Sounds like chip promised 20, exhaust promised 20 and sprocket (just to tweak the timing?) promised 20 so they just added it all up.

Very nice looking car though... reminds me of the one that got away, 91 M5 72k miles, $15k... made the mistake of asking the wife *before* buying it instead of begging for permission *after*

    Default "100% original...."

that is BS too b/c the SS exhaust, euro cam gear, chip, and t-star covers are not original, and I am thinking the headliner was replaced as well with black instead of gray......

It looks like a REALLY nice car though........just don't like to see inaccurate hyping.

Dinan website claims 351 hp with chip and cam gears.....who knows what an exhaust does.....

What makes you think the headliner was replaced? US Model E34 M5's had the option of black upper interior trim. A, B, C pillars, headliner, sunroof liner, sunvisors and grab handles included.

And the Style 21's were available as well.

Default The build date is 9/90.....

which is a crossover month. 1991 M5s were built in early 1990 and were 4 seaters. The black interior came with gray carpet and gray headliner, etc....no options. Also the t-star covers were not available until late 1992. The covers that came on that car were turbine style.

According to the venerable ETK, the black interior was put into use in 9/90, making the black headliner and other trim more than likely "stock" on this car.
The cost of buying those parts and installing them wouldn't make sense to most people.

Default Don't always rely on the ETK for accuracy.......

even when you put your VIN in it. I have had it only give me black or silver for interior parts when mine is all gray....had to resort to specifying 1989 525i to get some part number I needed for my 6/90 M5. It also state twin mass flywheel for my car when in fact it is a single mass flywheel. The ETK is not as venerable as you may initially think, especially when dealing with crossover production dates like 9/90.

The headliner could have gotten trashed, dirty, started falling off, etc. Maybe it needed replacement. The car may not have a lot of miles on it, but at some point age takes an equal toll. I was merely pointing out the fact that the headlinder, etc *could* be a replacement because of the gray carpet. Most black interiors had black carpet along with the silvergray or black headliner......

My 11/90 M5 has grey carpet and black headliner and has the rear bench seat. I'd swap it for rear buckets/breadbin in a heartbeat.

Supersprint exhaust adds no discernable power increase but it does sound nice, especially in a tunnel at 7200... Cam gears are next for me.
