Adjust the valves, check the banjo bolts, and live with it.
Ticking is part of life with any BMW engine that doesn't have self adjusting valves.

Help.. I am getting serious top end "valve ticking" its very annoying AND doesn't sound too cool at the stop light...(I'm sure you can all agree).Does anybody have the specs on fixing this issue ? Does anybody know of any previous postings on this issue ? I thank you all in advance for you help....

while your in there inspect the accentrics and all the wear points...you may have a couple worn way out and need to replace them.

jeffs got a point,i remeber someone posting about difficulty adjusting the valves on a M30 and worn eccentrics was the issue.I cant remember what the fix was tho......
