525i m50 owners...how much engineoil to use on an oil change? 5qts?

hi fellow e34 m50 (525i) users.........

most of the time i've only put 5qts. is this ok.....

i know there is a dipstick.....

but i want your opinions on how much oil you put since we all have the same m50 engines.....

is the right amount A or B?

also, what is the numbers in parentheses for are those in quarts?
