Default What about 225/55 15" tires in the front axle?

Lost a tire last Friday (running some long distance in a flat tire) and the rest of them are not in perfect shape, one is completely out of perfect circle. It’s becoming hard to find 225/60’s here. May be I can stand a wile with two cheap 225/55’s in the front axle until I can get four new good quality correct size tires?

Default I'd like an opinion from the tire experts

Come on guys, would like an opinion, will be a problem taking out this inch out of the front wheels diameter. Shouldn’t matter I think, or will I start hitting every bump on the road?

Default Only found 215/65 and 235/60, will go for 235/60. Thanks Winfred.

Default It may cause problems for the ABS computer and....

using a lower profile tire will likely reduce the load rating.

However since the change is small 60 series to 55 series it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

    Good Luck

Default I think you should also be fine with swapping tires...

as far as looking for a CHEAP tire, anything with a load rating of 87 and higher for a CHEAP tire, and T-rated, should be okay as a temporary fix.

    Default Caught a typo, I meant 97, not 87.

235/60 is too big... if you change only two, you will have traction control problem.

Default Ok, I got all four, actually,.....

the remaining two were not in that good shape to keep them, and the store suggest me to take them, not sure they will have them later. They are P235/60R15 98S. Thanks you all for the advise.
