Do you know off hand the colors of the wires, or how many there are?

Hi All
While i was adjusting my brake switch on my 1988 525i, i found a bunch of wires that were not connected and a cylindrical object fixed to the right side of the panel that i removed to get at the brake pedal. Can anyone shed some light on this??????? Been looking through the Haynes manual, but nothing.
I know i should have taken a photo but had to get moving.

theres normally lotsa unconnected wires all over the car (for optional equipment or stuff on cars for other markets) but theres a good chance that a couple of those go to the gong, which is about a 2"x2" cylinder that's clipped to the panel by the pedels
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
Just so many Gong issues... and so little time... :-)
Uh....is that the gong, perhaps? Metal cylindrical object with a grill on one end and two harness connectors on the back, one of which is OBC (does your car have OBC? if not, then there's the reason why it's not connected)? Mounts on the outer edge of the lower trim panel...

a good reminder for any ozzies complaining about japan and the whale hunting issues currently going on.many r screaming that cultural reasons r not good enough for eating such "lovely animals". but here in oz aboriginals have the right tohunt at their liesure, the dugong. bugger all left of them but for cultural reasons its ok.as if they need to bloody well eat these. im sure we built a bloody mcdonalds in kakadu and alice springs. oops sorry for the hijack, but its a sore point .sorry dont know anythingn about the wires. maybe join em all up and see what happens?
It certainly sounds like the Gong. 2 connectors to a 2" cylindrical object on the right panel. I saw 2 white connectors that seem to be the right fit but will leave well alone. By the way, what does this Gong do???????
Many Thanks
Steve
