    Default good deal

I am in the market and a friend just recommended a vehicle. Original owner 1991 525. White with Black interior. Mint condition with all service records. Everything works perfect and Ic cold AC. Driven by his wife and daughter then entire life of the car. They are asking 3000. Is there anything specific I should check out when I go look at the vehicle.

Yeah I read that. So I guess I should not be buying this car If I dont feel like repairing it often. I am looking for a solid commuter. The car only has 90K (1991) - - thats why I was thinking about it - -

Any car with 90k is going to have, or soon collect, some issues. But I don't think that's a good reason to write off the auto entirely. (EDIT: contrast that to my boss's ~2001 Tahoe -- at 55k, it's needing a lot of work, albeit it has been used as a tow vehicle). The items that come due on E34s at around 120k are routine. They are incredibly reliable cars, and I think everybody here will vouch for their comfort.

So, I say buy it if there's a good service history. Plan on spending a little money to do the common stuff and preventative maintenance. Aside from the insurance cost, it's the best deal you'll find on a well built german luxo car with panache.

    best, whit

Get it checked out by an independent mechanic before you hand over the cash. You'll get a lot of help and advice from this board if you get it.

Don't buy it, that's a horrible deal.... By the way, where is it located and what's the guys number??

$3k for a '91 with 90k miles, if it's in great shape it's hard to go wrong.

Well i found out that the odo really reads 140K. I did a carfax on the vehicle and it looks like the mileage was turned back at one point - - so it really has 200.--haha
