32 21 1 135 666, Tie Rod Assembly about $45 at dealer, comes with inner, outer joints and center adjuster piece
Weekend task of wheel balance & front alignment check showed my 94 530iA to be slightly pigion toed...BUT, alignment guy took me under car to show that the adjustments were "frozen" & could not be turned for adjustment without damage to the rubber covered joints at each end of the tie rod. He put considerable force on the rods as I witnessed the stress being transfered to the joints. And of course, BOTH of them. Suggested solution was replacement of both tie rod ends, which I am told come with new joints. Does this sound correct? It has 126k miles on the originals, so I guess it seems correct; All other part tight & good to go. Seems the ONLY adjustment on the front end is the toes in or out one.
