    Default OEM Shifter Improvement

Anyone know what is a good short shift solution using OEM parts?

What would be a good shifter replacement for my car, and is there anything else I could do (planning Delrin bushings) to improve my shifter?

I threw the Z3 1.9L shifter into my car and i love it. Paired with teh delrin bushings, who needs a UUC SSK

So all you did was swap selector rods and get new bushings?

Im also intrested in this conversion, there is a simular one listed on a owners club overhere (UK) but for the E30.

You might need to register but it's a extremely good guide

I second that comment. I have driven E34's with different flavors of SSK's. I have a UUC shifter in my 5 and it is worth every penny IMHO. Of course, YMMV but I would install another in a heartbeat.

    Best,

and used a euro e36 M3 shifter to shorten things up. The entire process was documented, including part #s in my post linked below. Others will have their opinions on other shifters to try, but I found the M3 quite a nice improvement.

Great write up Dave, I am waiting for my Euro M3 shifter to do exactly the same thing. The shift slop is getting to me and 3rd gear is getting increasing hard to find when warm.... I am doing 1st 2nd to 4th shifts sometimes 1 2 5. Good thing its a euro dogleg tranny!.
