Additional gauges...anyone?

I think some of us here on the board probaly successfully installed the additional gauges (ie. Bat-Charge, Oil pressure, Oil Temp, etc) in his/her series-5/e34.

I just wonder...where did you guys put the gauges? Also, how did you do it?
Appreciate, if you can share w/ us here.

I put my guages on the A-Pillar, but I have also seen them go infront of the fhist lever. I think VDO has a kit that fits really well infront of the guage cluster and it is probably the cleanest look, and many people feel the A-pillar is a bit too ricey. Either way works well, I like the A-Pillar because of its ease to look at while your trying to concentrate on the road. Its all up too you, but im sure you could get really creative if you wanted to, but those are your two basic options

has some nice 2 inch gauges and bullet style pods that can fit nicely on the steering column at 11 & 2 O'clock.

Did this on my Rx2 & 7 before, and it was discreet but functional.

I squeezed in four VDO gages on the front part of the console. I have a volt meter, automatic trans temp, oil temp and oil pressure. I fabricated an aluminum plate to replace the stock wood covered metal plate and angled it upwards to fill in the open front part of the console. I drilled out 4 holes and covered it with black vinyl. The contact cement I used on the vinyl is starting to let go a little bit after two years. I wish I could do something with carbon fiber instead of the vinyl.
The only draw back is I have to take my eyes off the road to read them.
At night the display looks pretty nice though. If you want I could take some pix and try to post them or email them to you.
