Default Question about Depo ellipsoid bulbs--help needed

I think I have the wiring figured out, but I took a regular H1 bulb and tried to put it into the housing, and the bulb didn't fit through the metal opening. Am I missing something here???? What kind of bulbs do I need to get?
    *Thanks*

Yes, and the depo housing, the plastic cap, does say h1 on it. I'll try the 9005,9006 next. Anyone else know?

the h1 bulb doesnt go into the housng,it kinda sits on the outside with the cut of side of the circular base mating to the flat on the headlight. The bulb is held in place with a double sided spring clip. You can see the shape of the h1 base in the pic.The headlight housing obviously must be a mirror image

sometimes the casting of the Depo light housing has some extra metal in the bulb opening. Check to see if it looks "finished" and if not try an emory board/nailfile to grind-off/file-off the flanged metal leftover from the casting. I recommend doing this with the opening facing the ground so the filings don't get trapped inside the housing. Finally, blow-out the housing with compressed air. I got the same set-up with HID 4500k bulbs...............sweet.

Thanks for the responses. They were H1 bulbs after all, I was mistakenly trying to fit an h7 bulb earlier, till I looked closer. Got them installed today, I have some MAJOR aiming adjustments ahead of me!
