Parked ventilation upgrade

I have a '94 525i with 118K on it. I needed to remove the OBC to get to the wiring harness for connecting the DPDTrelay. I had removed the radio to get to the lever that you have to pull to remove the OBC. Guess what! When I pull it towards me, nothing happens. The OBC will not release or budge. It may be stuck, or am I doing anything wrong? I am afraid, if I pull on the lever too hard, it may break. Does anyone has any suggestion or any other way I can remove the OBC?
Secondly, the instruction that appears on the bmwe34.net under Parked ventillation upgrade, is for a '90 525i. Has anyone tried this on a '94 525i? Bentley wiring diagram for '94 525i indicates wire no 14 and not 21. I want to make sure that I am not connecting to the wrong wire.

Hey you wouldn't happen to have the page that explains how to program the OBC would you, sadly my 1990 535i was missing all manuals when I bought her. I barely figured out how to set the time and thats about it

This file goes into details about the OBC (got this from Shogun)...I would suggest printing it out so that you can keep a "hard" copy in your glovebox for future reference:
