Default Brake Lights Are Staying On

Hi All. I am hoping someone can help me out with an issue I am having.

My brake lights on my 94 530i are staying on all the time. I have noticed that if I press the break pedal in just slightly, the brake louts will go out, and then come on again when I press the pedal further. So basically, the brake lights will go out if I rest my foot on the pedal.

Is there an adjustment I can make to fix this? Maybe it is a bad switch?

    Thanks

Probably the brake switch...don't use cruise control until you get it replaced/fixed. If you're a DIYer, give a call to BMA for the part. The repair entails removing the lower valence on the dash, which is pretty straightforward. All in all a 15 minute job with a Bentley's (or the forum ).

    best, whit

yes, time for another switch. In a pinch you might be able to clean/hit it until the new one comes in.

Sounds easy enough. I will order the part. Thanks.
