Sorry to break the thread, but it seems that my consumption is 'average' so to speakThank you VERY much for your submissions and do keep them coming. I'm sure someone will search for mileage and stumble upon this as a baseline.
On the note of anti-knock sensor... since the M30 doesn't have it (1989), then if I chipped it and ran lower octane gas for whatever reason (yes, I know!), nothing would retard the timing and it would be knocking until it fell apart?
12.9 mpg from OBC. Pure city driving.
20 mpg (60 miles/day in l.a. traffic) 157K on the clock.
im getting like 19.9 via the obc, and thats because of a recent highway trip, im always off the freeway 1989 535i 163k
