    Default T'stat question

I replaced my T'stat in the m20 engine and installed the new gasket in the same place as the old gasket. Now I belive the old gasket was in the wrong place. Should the gasket be in the groove in the housing or between the t-stat and the cover?

You lost be on the gasket, head. I only have a rubber o-ring, no gasket. I thought the o-ring and gasket were the same thing.

the gasket is between the housing and the head and you are probably never going to even see it unless you do head work
