Is that not why God invented rev limiters??
My M30 sounds GREAT up in the rev range!!
I often hit the rev limiter in my car - I use the limiter as a "sort of" shiftlight, just as the engine cuts at 6700 or so, change up. It's so easy to do. I have no concerns at all about it. I rebuilt the block two years ago and it's still running sweet. I would suggest before driving at high rpm you know your timing belt (on M20's anyway) is good and your valves are well adjusted and don't rattle. Frequent oil changes are a wise idea. If your engine sounds like a bag full of hammers then fix it first, or one of your pistons may just go airborne!!!

Removing the speed limit is quite easy. I think not one car in my country has it - it gets removed less than a weak after import. :)Quote:
