oil recomandation

thanks again,
i passed that recomandation from aral :) my opinion aral made oils not engines to recomend the best oil for my car.
i wanted to find out yours counsels,from yours experience in bmw.what type of wheigt should match to my M20engine/year-round.
isn't too thin the M1 5w-40 to my engine,how will the engine work with it?

it will likely quiet it down and idle smoother. once you switch to a synthetic your going to be hooked :)
