No prob on the connectors. I was able to locate a PDF of the CD43 user's manual. If someone can host this, or if anyone wants a copy of this, let me know and I can email it to you.
ADAPTERS: Here is a photo of the 2 different style adapters...

The easiest way to tell what style you need is by it either having 2 or 4 of the round connectors. Also, you can see that the top version has a big black connector as well.
The link at the bottom is for your antenna. Price is $15.00 for this piece.
The two connectors look like they plug into different units - doesn't the big black monolithic plastic end go into the CD43?Quote:

So the pictures are what the existing connector in the car should look like ( one of the two) and will they both plug into the CD43 or is there an adapter necessary to connect the existing harness to the CD43?Quote:

Well close, this is just the opposite side of what the body side connectors look like. You will take one of these two adapters and plug it into the harness that used to connect to your old headunit... you will then simply clip in the block side of the adapter to the CD43 and you are done with wiring. This adapter is only necessary for the early build date E30's, E34's, E24's etc.Quote:

Well, I got everything installed last weekend! Again a big thanks to Jimmy for putting this together, especially on the DICE setup
First impressions: the CD43 is DEFINITELY better sounding than stock radio, as someone mentioned above, more "stage presence." Also, my crackle, crackle after playing music for a while hasn't appeared yet now after installing the CD43, so [fingers crossed] i'm hoping the new head unit is the fix for that noise.
To install the DICE module, I pulled out the radio, climate control, shifter wood trim, and lower console to run the big cable from the radio to the module, which I've decided to put in the area under the console compartment where there was an option for a cigarette lighter (for the backseat) and I don't have one. I read some people wired theirs to the DICE under their seat, but I find this will be easier.
In addition, you will see that I drilled a 1/2" hole in my console compartment and fitted a rubber grommet to feed the cable through. I noticed a lot of companies that integrate iPods like to wire them up next to the radio, but I prefer having wires etc on my right side, not getting entangled with the shifter, etc.
As for sound... when you crank it up, it really does sound amazing, CD quality, and even better now with the CD43. I was planning on replacing my speakers this summer, but I'm realizing there may not be need to do that :D
Now, for a few issues (you knew this was coming):
1) I'm getting a soft "ticka ticka ticka"/soft popping noise that can be heard through the speakers only when the volume is low or between tracks. I have now found that others have experienced this problem as well as other issues on this extensive bimmerfest thread, and I have not found a fix yet. Hoping someone can shed some light on this...
2) I can't get the text to show up properly on the radio. A few words about the song will come on once in a while and then disappear, but I can't get the text to come up on command and scroll normally. I'm following the manual's directions to use button 6 and then stop at tracks 1-5 (I think it should be 1 anyway) till text appears. Did this work for you in the E34 Jimmy?
3) Random loss of connection. I don't know why, but while I'm driving and listening to music, sometimes it will just switch modes and start playing the radio, like it lost connection with the DICE or something.
A side note for CD43 users: you have to press the "CD" button TWICE to use your CD changer or DICE (if applicable)... took me a while to figure this one out :)
So the CD43 is a "go" for sure, and hopefully the DICE issues can be worked out. Please post your results and suggestions, thanks!

Am I way too late for this? I'm tired of trying to read my display with 10% of my pixels gone. I have a 12/91 build with the Bavaria C Professional head unit with RDS. Here's my connector:
