I found info here on a similar setup here;

this kit is for the e28 m30 3.3L. How hard would it be to turbo a m30 e34 using such a kit like this, provided other parts would have to be purchased?
regards
kristian
it's worth a few bucks more then the turbo itself, id go with a modern computer system and would be temped to shitcan the log style crack-o-matic restrictive manifold and run a tubeular manifold. i've never really put a whole lot of thought on bimmer turbos, i was into volvo stuff several years ago, but have been out of the loop for a while
I keep saying I'm going to turbocharge my 240 one of these days, but only bieng home for 2 weeks out of the year and the fact that my mom still drives the car when her teenage daughter wants her jeep makes it not practical now. Can get all the parts from a scrapyard for under $200. Some day...
a good mod for a 240 is the AW lock up converter tranny from a non turbo 740/940, it drops right in with no mods and gets you better mileage, i think my grandparents got something like 35mpg at 65-70 on a long run in the 91 240 i built them
