I was curious as to what radar detectors are being used out there.
I use the Passport X50.

Heres a good site on Radar detectors.... after this I decided to save some $$ and bought a Whistler Pro 58 for the GF and for my 2nd detector cause I'm too lazy to transfer between cars I bought a Whistler Pro 73.
Bel now owns passport.... I really wanted to buy the Bel RX 55 but decided to save $$.

Valentine One - two drivers, two hardwired Valentines. I'm thrifty, the value of the Valentine telling me WHERE the radar signal is coming from is well worth the bucks. About the best dollars I've spent on driving - longer lasting than good tires. Haven't spent money on driving school yet, but that's about the only thing that delivers maybe superior bang for the buck. As with driving school, the Valentine's benefits can follow you from car to car.

I put off buying a V1 for a long time, now I don't know why I did. There is a reason eveyone has these, they work and they are well worth the $400. I've been on 2 cross country trips with this thing since I got it and it's saved my butt multiple times.
Does the V1 give off as many false alerts as they say?

I surely didnt want to spent that much money but my last detector was I believed to be an excellant one and failed to work one night after a bar in a speed trap area. Spent about 12 valantine 1s to get out of that mess.
I've always wanted a V1, but after doing some research I decided to save $$... for 2 brake jobs, B&B exhaust, flex disc, new headlights & fog lights... etc... I dont really need the arrows as I am very aware and observant that I see everything.
When I get my new detector we'll see if it picks up the CTHP which I swear is using POP since my current one doesnt pickem up, the Whistler Pro 73 seemed very good on all tests, for $175-300 more I didnt think the Passport, V1, & others were worth it, but we'll see..
I just got a brand new Whistler 1788r of Ebay for $100. Its the cordless one.
I bought it because it seems to get really good ratings and it was cheap. I haven't got to really test it out yet though.
