94 540i tranny swap, compatible parts??

I have already done a automatic to 5 speed swap on my 90 735i so I understand the scope of the work. I want to do the same on my 94 540i. Which tranny will fit and which flywheel will fit?? Is there a web page with all this info? I have heard that the 94-95 E34 6 speed trannies are different than the 97-+ E39 6 speed trannies, is this true.
