An interesting sight.
I helped some friends move a couple of months back and forgot we found this in the kitchen.

It’s brass and looks original. Seemed to have been painted over a few times.
At best guess the building is from the 1920s in an area of chicago (rogers park) that has had it’s ups and downs.
Tres cool.
