Placed some Lucas brake pads on the rear of my 535i. No squealing, more dust than stock pad. Pedal bite seems good. Got them for $65 AUS.

Anway upgrading to 540i front and rear rotors and calipers soon. There are only two brake pads of choice that most guys here recommend.

- Hawk HPS Street
- Raybestos QS Cermaic.

I cannot find these pads in Australia. For the Hawk HPS street, I'm being quoted US$72 for front us$54 for the rear and us$36 for shipping down under from www.bimmerworld.com. To me this seems pretty cheap. ANy cheaper around?

Mainly used for "spirited" street use. Can I go wrong with either? And where to buy the Raybestos QS Cermaic online?

I enjoy braking hard, and on one spirited run through the royal national park late at night,(http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/parks.nsf/parkContent/N0030?OpenDocument&ParkKey=N0030&Type=Xo) I experienced a large amount of fade from heavy braking. (went easy the next 5 mins of driving). I don't want this **** happening when I take it on the track.

Considering maybe 540i brake ducts also. Where can I buy the brake ducts from?

regards

kristian

Kristian, if you're getting the 540 ducting parts, you might as well get the Raybestos QS sent along with the rest of the bits. I run the QS based on Bill R.'s fine recommendation...thery're a great performing, low-dust pad!
