ok guys i am thinking of getting the rear sunblind from the guy parting out the m5.This ETK pic shows the general setup but i cant tell if i need a whole new parcel shelf or if i "modify" mine.the local dealer cant identify which blind i might get,all he says that they have bought in three of one type!

or should i be lookin at this pic

Do all e34,s have the same colour parcel shelf. My main trim colour is black the hoodliner etc is grey but the parcel shelf is a brownish colour with a slight purple tint in strong light(maybe thats why i need the blind?)
Lastly i have a little clock symbol(annual inspection) and inspection showing on my service indicator with two green lights.(my nest service is a ins 1)I want to reset the annual inspection symbol without resetting the main service interval or is it all tied in together.I looked at my TIS but i couldnt navigate it very well....

...I think the parcel shelves are different, with and without sun blind and they also come in different colours. That ETK pic you posted did not have a part no. for "no.1 rear window shelf". Is that strange?

Don't worry what colour it is, just go all out and get the motorised version! :D

Hey Paul,
I'm pretty sure you can cut a slit in the shelf you have to accomodate the blind if you want to go that route. My shelf is also the same (faded?) color as yours and I have the parchment interior.
Check here for more info: http://bmwe34m5.com/faqs/?theme=1&level=4&question_id_select=399&chapitre_id_select=26&document_id_select=3
A couple years ago I bought a used blind and was going to do this mod but the clips that mount the blind were broken when it arrived and I returned the item to the seller.
Don't know about the inspection lights.
Hope things are good in NZ.
