ive read all about how k&n intakes are trash, but i have heard good things about apex'i filters. Supposedly they filter very well, but they dont make one to fit my 535, so i was thinking about using their universal 80mm filter and a 90 degree elbow to connect it, what material should i use for the elbow though?

stainless pipe "thin wall thickness" is the norm you soudnt have any problems getting it, you can buy kits in most parts shops and stainless looks much nicer

any filter that lets more air in than oem will let more dust in. it is so simple.
kn are not trash, they just are designed for good air intake. any aftermarket air
filter will damage your motor more than a an oem filter

that being said, where are u buying your apexi from?

i searched google and found overboost.com that sells them for $68. Are there any ways to make it sound like a cone filter would while keeping the stock filter? I would be more interested in that? I know I must sound stupid, because all i want is the sound but sad to say its true

that does make sense in a way....
the sound is great =]

u can try putting a number of holes into your airbox
this will make more sound, while keeping the stock
filter
