Electric Mirrors

My rearview mirrors just stop working (the electric adjustment system). Any ideas what the problem can be? I checked the fuses and they all look fine. It's a 94 540i. It doesn't even work when I put Reverse (the passenger mirror will automatically move down)

There is this little button besides the adjuster.
The automatic 'move down' function in reverse only works when you have this little switch on the correct side. Forgot which one, just switch to the other side and check again.

If that does not help, remove the switch and check if power is there or not.
Sometimes even a blast with a good eletr. cleaner spray helps.

Still not good: check inside the mirros if there is power. Sometimes a cable in the wire loom from A-pillar into the door breaks/is shortened.
