Here's a link to a 94 525i IHKA control panel...it looks like there's only 1 bulb (#10) in the diagram.

There are 3 bulbs in there, while you have the thing apart you might as well change them all. The tricky thing for me was connecting the cables for the vents back.

I've the got the same lights out in mine and plan on replacing them when I put in a new radio.

The OBC takes 3 of the black bulbs and the heater controls take one 12V.

Anybody ever replace the thumbwheel bulb or is that just on the E32??

If your center vent thumb wheel has red & blue markings on it...then it is not lit. The e32 vent you link to has a white transluscent marking on the thumb wheel that the light shines thru...and so do early e34s (1989-1993) Sometime in 1993 the center vent was changed and became non-lit.

Notice in the pic below that the thumb wheel has red & blue painted markings...this is the non-lit center vent from my 95 525iT.

Notice the white transluscent marking on the center vent thumbwheel in this pic below...this indicates a lighted thumb wheel.
