I got new wheels and tires about a month ago. They look great I'm linking a pic to this post. This is a bbs rs gt rim, but I seem to think I've seen a factory BMW rim that looks close to this style. I've seen z3's with 16 spoke, (i think), but these are eight. People always ask me if they're factory bmw rims because the center caps. Check'em out. Is there a factory rim like this ?

(remember...some of us po' souls only have dial up service) :D

Your BBS wheels are similar to the BMW Cross Spoke 42 wheel. Both wheels have the alternating "smallV/big U" spoke pattern...biggest difference appears to be your BBS wheels have a wider rim/lip.

Absolutely not!!!!!!! Qsilver7 seems to think your wheel resembles the one he posted, but your photo is very different from the OEM BMW wheel. The center section in the lug area is machine finished and BMW doesn't offer anything like that, plus your wheel looks more like a generic high/low offset wheel. BMW always has 2 different part numbers for low and high offset cars even though the bolt pattern is identicle. Looks pretty decent though.....good luck.

'cept you have 8 "spokes" while the 42s have 10. I like the 42s a lot, right along with the turbines/throwing stars and M-contours.... just can't decide which I'd like for my E34... regardless $$ dictates I get replicas... Look good, where did you get yours? Cheers, Rob. ('93 525ia)

Or maybe you have a "different" interpretation of what similar means.

similar - nearly but not exactly alike or the same; having a resemblance but not identical

No, these wheels are not exact duplicates of one another...but as I mentioned...they have a similar spoke pattern that appears to be obvious to me....the spokes are all Y shaped and create a larger U shape between the spokes. I also pointed out one (not all) of the differences and that was the rim width...and Rob points out that the number of spokes (8 in one and 10 in the other) is different.

Lets take a look at them all..maybe its just me & Rob...but to me these wheels all have the same basic spoke design...they aren't identical...but similar. 8-) 8-)

Those wheels look nothing like the wheel that was originally posted. The lug bolts are not exposed and the Y shaped spoke is almost the same size as the U shaped empty space. And besides...this wheel has bolts along the rim!!!!! :D :p :D

(please know that my tongue is firmly planted within my cheek!!!)

excuse the confusion Qsilver, I meant that they have design features that BMW would absolutely never offer as OE (no lip for the low offset fitments, and machined lug area)......I did not mean to suggestthat they are not "similar" in styling. However, if you're suggesting that the examples you provided are all similar, than I would agree to a "bare-basic" degree, but if thats the case, than I guess there is only a handful of "styles" for a car, 5 spoke, multi-spoke, mesh, solid, and lastly the "classic wire wheels" aka Compton Cruiser. I never meant to offend, and I like the sarcasm.....but gimme a break, just about every E39 in America has a "similar" wheel, and I highly doubt any enthusiast on this site wouldn't already know that.......unless "they" don't consider the 2003, 2004 E39 "sport" wheel similar..........lol

...was off kilter! :D I knew there was probably a better explanation and I kept sending out "sarcastic" arrows hoping to get you to elaborate. (isn't it a wonderful way we communicate with one another...just like family...you always stick it to the ones you love!!) :D :D

Take care.
