How to Reset Check Engine Light 95 525i

Hi All,

I had the check engine light on, and when I read the error code it was 1221 (o2 sensor). Something strange happens though. The computer never stopped flashing 1221 (even after 5 mins) and I was never able to get the 1000 code, hence was not able to reset the check engine light.

Is there something that I might be missing, I am following instructions from http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/trouble/engine_codes.htm

If any of you have seen this behavior before please help me understand this.

Can someone post for me a picture showing the location of the check engine ligh in the instrument panel? I have never seen mine and my car (german) manual does not show one.

On my 95 525i its on the left hand side below the speedometer 2 from left at the bottom. It spells out CHECK ENGINE in red. I can post pictures if no one else does.
