Well first of all, let me start by saying that the car is a 05/1995 540i6 and has the LED in the vent on the dash, and one under the rear view mirror. The car also came with the "keyless entry" keys.

So about a month ago, i tried replacing the battery in the key and doing the reprogram procedure (stick key in the ignition, hold buttons... yada yada yada)

it didnt work.

Also, the LED's on the dash have never blinked or anything.... is there some kind of fuse or relay that is blown? (also, how do i get to the factory alarm connector that is under the passenger side of the dash?)

also, i dont have the factory alarm connector under the back seat... i hear there is one in the dash somewhere? how do i get to it?

this may be a custom install job.
is it oem bmw?

i am pretty sure it is OEM because the car is fully loaded, and it would be stupid for them not to include this one feature.... it was also produced in 05/1995.

is this mysterious box the factory alarm connector? i've heard rumors that it could be in the dash... does anyone know how to get to it?

could it be that the key is defective?

great, now it turns out that i had my batteries out of the key for too long and the key wont start the car anymore.

how much do they charge for this type of thing? (re-encoding the keys) also is it something that i can do myself or do i need the dealer?

Read my post in response to the user, "prisonepistles"

All of the information applies to your car.

And what's with calling the responses "laaaa[...]me"? Just because the open community here hasn't yet provided the information, a commodity commonly BOUGHT and SOLD, for FREE, you get angry? Seems a bit ungrateful, my friend.
