they are wonderful cars...my guess driven real hard and put away wet...why it needs a clutch at 65K miles which is hard to believe mileage wise but possible. Rare to sell a car without putting the interior back together. One car you definitely would want to have a compression test performed on and drive before pulling the trigger.

the front door pannels have been removed and i still have them, but i would recommend replacing

Wouldn't touch it without seeing it first.

Seats look completely redyed. Rubber moulding on the doors is shot. "Appears" to be repainted - wtf does that mean?

I went a looked at very "similar" car in the Seattle area for Robin before he ended up with his current ride - it was a total abortion.

I've seen those photos before, possibly from a previous sale - and not too long ago. The photos obviously don't represent the car as it is now.
Everyone would like to pick up a cheap ///M5, but a bit of history would be nice to know. To his credit the "new" seller does say that it would make a good track car.
Tread carefully - the imfamous Florida M3 from a couple of years ago springs to mind (stolen from Rhode Island, rebirthed, repainted), That seller was short on history as well. Be carefull.

I am betting it is an insurance stolen recovery car. Typically - thieves steal the car. Take the interior out - owner claims loss - gets paid. Insurance co recovers the car later. Sells it at Auction. Sometime chop shops buy the car back at auction and replace the interior then sell it clean title - or - they sell the interior back to whomever buys the car at auction. This is a possible scenario. It is one of the Chop Shop scams that they used to run a few years back - JT

Guys - that car was crashed. I read about it on another board. Can't remember the specifics, but some dude was going to buy it for $2500, made the mistake of asking some other dude to check it out for him (who ended up buying it and trying to sell it off as being a perfect car on eBay). Had been involved in a t-bone and you could see how bad the impact was - the center console was all off center. Repair was poorly done. I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.
