Hi to everyone

Here is my prob, Center silencer is losing some exhaust gas and it cant be patched up. Need to renew everthing.

Dealer will quote me around $1000(lots of import duty on spare parts-80%) for a new resonator and there are non available, need to order.

Option 1-do a custom resonator-cost me quarte of the $1000. the shops in my country do not make quite good job when it comes to BMW!!
Option 2-remove resonator

Car is a 540iA -M60 engine

What kind of sound will I be getting if I remove the resonator and will inside cabin sound increase a lot?

it will probably sound like a TVR with a V8, or maybe a Rover V8? :D in all seriousness, it will increase the sound a bit, but you probably wont notice a whole lot of difference. I tell you this much though, the difference isn't worth $1k for an original one. Have a pipe welded in place by a good shop, tell them that you want NO resonance or you are not paying :D
