View Full Version : query about moonroof "privacy shade"

Does anyone who has one of the stock glass moonroofs know what the privacy shade (the manual sliding panel that blocks out the sun when desired) looks like on its topside: is it completely flat, or does it have any of mechanisms, stops, channels, etc. that the headliner panel for the non-glass sunroof has (which engage with the actual sunroof when tilting it up at the back)?

I need to construct a sliding panel for my moonroof, and would like to know if a simple flat panel would work.

Thanks for any tips,

the panel has a couple channels that slide onto pins at the mechanism's that raise the back, it's pretty much flat, the same channels that allow the rear to be raised also push the panel back and by a friction fit pull it forward
