window problem

my drivers side window has been playing up and i need to change the motor and the whole system the glass has just come out of its holding place does anyone have a step by step procedure for changing the motor please help

Can't find one off hand, but I had my door apart to clean the regulator rails and the sliders and it looked like it would be relatively straightforward...door panel, glass, wiring harness then motor. If you're mechanically incliined, it shouldn't be a problem at all...

...good point, Jeff! I almost did that R&R'ing the window motor on my '88 Gran Prix a year ago...couldn't recall seeing a coil spring on the E34 assembly when I had the door panel off...
