Hi there, I just got a set of calipers and carriers from a 91 850, the single piston kind. I just came from looking at the upgrade page and there is a photo with a similar system with 17" RD wheels. There is very little room between the rims and the calipers in that photo. My car has 16", M parallel type wheels and I wonder of they will fit over these brakes. Will I need to get bigger wheels or anyone knows if this will work? It's a 95, 525. I'm also looking for the calipers for the rear from a 540i, TIA, Dave

My 16" 750 winter wheels clear the 850 single pot calipers. The 850 came from the factory with 16" wheels. Unless your replica Mparallel wheels have some hella weird back spacing, they should clear. I do like the Hawk HPS street pads for these brakes. They aren't too dusty & really like a bit of heat.

Real clean - almost looks like a limo.

Do I see a bit of sap on the roof though?

I've got the same winter wheels (16x7.5 ET20), and they fit over both the single-piston E31 brakes and the 4-pot Brembos. I've also had 16" E31 7-spoke turbine wheels (16x7.5, ET15) and 16" BBS RKs (16x8, ET15) that fit over the brakes just fine.

(and to be a complete copycat of Martin, I too love the HPS street pads ;))

Thank you guys, just save me from buying a new set of wheels/tires. I was concern that mine would not fit. guess I get the rims at other time, now I must try to get the 540i rear calipers....

is to test-fit your wheels over the brakes. The thickness of the spokes may interfere even if the width and offset of the wheel seem OK. For example, I've heard that 16" Alpina wheels will not clear E31 brakes for that reason.
