it was conceived in or what adolescent notion someone has about it, neither have I any predisposition of purchase. $4880 US is a lot of cake to spend on a body transformation. If for some crazy reason I had cash to blow, I would do without the rear window spoiler and trunk spoiler, and perhaps a couple of other things to make the car look not as busy.

IMHO, the thing is that there are not many late 80s & early 90s cars out there that look great when they get transformed with such a kit like the e34 does. Many Euro cars acquire an impeccable appearance and look a lot better with body kits than their stock counterparts. Can't say the same for many US cars. It doesn't matter much anyhow 'cause if it were up to me, I'd make subtle changes to the body but in any event, it's ok to do drool over something you can only wish for every once in a while...
