Can't attach inside door handle cable to lock

Cable broke which connects between between inside door handle and lock, (front RH) . This appears to be fairly common, from looking at the posts

Have dismantled panel to gain access to interior of door.
Cannot work out how you get at the bit of the lock where the cable attaches, to install new cable

Any offers please?
