Hello Bimmer Friends

I am new to this forum. I just bought a '92 525i Wagon and am sure to have lots of questions and hope to contribute in the future.

My first issue is that the rear window in the tailgate seemed to pop loose. It seemed to be secured by something around the wiper but I am not sure. I don't have a manual yet. Anyone seen this before? What is the correct repair procedure? Does this window open? Help is appreciated.

Also, what are the best places for (and which are the best quality) shop manual, exhaust and consumable parts. I am going to change all the fluids and normal tune up parts right away.

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, it's supposed to open. The handle in the middle opens the whole back hatch, the handle on the right opens just the glass. You may have to close it a little hard. I swear sometimes I think my kids are going to break it they slam it so hard. If it pops open from being closed, that's another thing.

Get a Bentley's manual (link at top "Bimmer Books"), lots of good stuff in there.

Geez, 76k miles on a '92? It's hardly broken in yet!

It must have popped open when I was driving. I will examine it and post back.
