OBC retrofit - problem with stalk

Have changed my old OBC with watch+temp to full OBC (also from e34, but 530)- everything work fine except stalk with remote control (turn swith and upper beam works fine).

You need to put in a shunt at the wire harness in the rear of center console... should be a flat wire harness with three wires even though it has capability for 4... connect the outer two together.

I have already looked there - no 3-wire harness

Then your car is not prewired for cell phone... therefore you don't have that option unless it is in another location.

I don't think the cellphone has anything to do with the obc retrofit... I retrofitted the obc, my new indicator just pluggged straight in to the connections with the old one and brings up the obc functions.

Oops... I didn't see that 1995... I assumed he has older car that is not prewired. Then... the wire should be there...

yes they do. Cell phone uses that signal stalk to answer phone... you can either have cell phone or OBC control but not both. The shunt that I was talking about is where they plug in the cell phone unit... alot of time when reconverted back to normal... people lose that shunt or don't know about it... therefore it doesn't work.

Maybe smb. know what colours are these 3 wires?

I think mine were yellow... yellow with red stripes. I know there are different colors depends on year of your car. In any case, it is the only loose wire harness under the center console. Sometime you just have to take off the rear of center console to see the wires.

How do you do this? I retro fitted an OBC into my Touring & noticed that the stalk does not scroll though the OBC functions. I am pre-wired for the phone. What & Where do I look & wire into to make the stalk work?

Center console... you know... by the parking brake level... from the back, pop the cover off and see if you can find that wire... if not, loosen that console and partially lift it up... you should see a wiring harness with three wires.. connect the outer two together with a wire.
