View Full Version : Repaired window switches... pic

Well I managed to spill soda somewhere in the vacinity of my window switch. Supposedly an $80 part, so I figured I'd fix it rather than replace it. All you do is pry it out of the center console, disconnect the awkwardly short wires, and then pop the bottom third off with a screw driver, and then the middle off and you can see the contacts inside. some of them were covered with a thin sticky film preventing conductoin to occur, some had general corrosion on them. i used Q-Tips and goo gone and cleaned the contacts and the switches themselves.

btw there is no reason to post pics wider than 500px

Yeah I have a Nikon D100 to take a 500x500 image... right.

Yeah. I can't possibly imagine a situation where that switch would actually need replacing. It's built like a ****ing tank.

If it starts acting up, it just needs cleaned. Unless you manage to snap some plastic bit, there's literally nothing else that can go wrong with them.
