I took out the front door panel to replace the door brake (1990 BMW 525i). In the process, I had to remove the electrical connectors for the side mirror adjustor (i.e. side mirror controller). Stupid me, I did not label the wires before disconnecting. There are six wires each having a different color/color combination.

Can someone please help me with the wiring scheme to this assembly. What color is wire #1, what color is wire #2, etc.

Thanks a 1M.

Steve

Thanks for the help. I placed the order with Amazon, but no assurance the book is available. Got an email that says "Special Order".

Do you happen to know the wire color codes. Here is how my connector looks like:

------------------
| O3 O4 O5 O1 |
| O2 O6 |
------------------

4 pins in one row (pins 3, 4, 5, and 1) and two pins in the second (pins 2 and 6).

The part # is 1370455.

Again thank you very much!

Hi Jeff,

I went to an old mechanic shop and they were kind enough to give me the schematic diagram for my POWER MIRRORS for the 1990 525i. Here they are:

Pin 1 = BR
Pin 2 = SW/WS
Pin 3 = BL/WS
Pin 4 = cannot read the writing (too faded!!!)
Pin 5 = BL/SW
Pin 6 = BL/GN

I am not familiar with the color codes, but I can gues the BL is BLUE, GN is grean, BR is BROWN. What about WS ans SW. What do they mean?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Pin 1 = BR - brown
Pin 2 = SW/WS- stripe white/white stripe (makes NO sence, maybe white?)
Pin 3 = BL/WS - black/white stripe
Pin 4 = cannot read the writing (too faded!!!) - exempt
Pin 5 = BL/SW - black/stripe white
Pin 6 = BL/GN - black/green

Maybe with the process of elimination you will zero it down. probably not...
this sux.

Hi Jeff,
The Bentley book arrived last Friday and it sure contained the breakout of the pins. I used it along with what my mechanic gave and put the whole thing back.
Here is the breakout of the pins for the good folks on this forum:

PIN 1 = Black/White
PIN 2 = BROWN
PIN 3 = BLUE/WHITE
PIN 4 = GREEN/BLACK
PIN 5 = BLUE/BLACK
PIN 6 = BLUE/GREEN

Thanks for helping me and guiding me to the Bentley book!!!
