View Full Version : Driver's door won't lock ....

Hi Guys,
I have three or four problems with my E34 1988 530i SE Auto (RHD here in England), so I'll post them separately. This one is that the driver's door won't lock. Turning the key in the door lock doesn't make the plastic knob go down, nor can I push the knob down by hand. Any ideas ?

I had a similar problem on my 325 that was caused by the inside door handle not fully retracting into the door. Once you push the handle in, the lock would operate normally.

Hi Aaron, I've just checked and unfortunately it's not that, but thanks very much anyway. Maybe something's become detatched in the linkage, so I'll have to delve deeper. Bob.
