carb cleaning

i cleaned my carb on a 1990 518i will a carb cleaning spray but ever since i have done this my car idles near 2 and comes down very slowly but then goes up again i never had this prob before i cleaned the carb. have i messed it up please help

carbureted 518i? I knew they made 518's, but i thought it was the M40 motor, which was FI i thought. 518(i) means injected.
