Ive got a leak at the lower right handed side (looking from front of vehicle). the bentley manual only has diagram from m20 version.

have only looked briefly at it, but there appears to be a hose and some type of smaller plug at that location.

any help appreciated

the bently doesn't have much info on the m60 radiator...

do you have an auto or manual tranny? The auto tranny might have some kind of cooling thing... but I drive a manual so thats just a guess..

check out http://rust.mine.nu/bmw/carselect.do and narrow it down to your car, there are a lot of good diagrams, you might be able to figure out what your looking for.

I replaced the radiator in my 530iM a couple of months ago, pretty easy to replace, but the radiator was 200 bones at bma (going with the one patrick suggested).

If you do replace the radiator, be sure to get 2 replacement radiator clips (they hold the radiator down). the plastic gets real brittle and will probably break when removing the radiator.

You are describing the transmission fluid cooler line. This diagram should help you visualize it:

If it were me I would determine whether the leak is a result of a loose hose clamp, a cracked plastic bib, or a leak in the rad itself.

The first two are easy. Sometimes you can cut off the last inch or so of the hose, and replace it with a new hose clamp. Often the plastic bib is broken though, and you need a new rad. While you're there, I'd have a good look at the water pump as well. If you're going to replace the rad anyway (easy) you can make replacing the water pump an easier job.
