Hi guys,
I'm looking at a 89 535ia with 117,00. The previous owner has said that he replaced the trans computer, the car ran for about 3 weeks and then would not run. He said the tranny is bad. He described the symptoms as the car would die if the RPMs were not kept up (over 2500). Now it won't start.
From what he described, I don't think its a mechanical tranny issue, I was thinking it just had a bad TPS or other electrical problem.
I can buy this car for a good price, so even if I have to change out the tranny, it will still be worthwhile.
Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.
