I was driving last night hit a freaking pothole and my airbag went off. Now I need help removing it until I can get a new one. Does anyone know how that's done?

Torx T27 I believe. Unscrew those and the bag will come free from the steering wheel. Then unplug the orange connector.

Same thing happened to my mom a year and a half ago. Except it wasn't a pothole the road was just really torn up and bumpy. Airbag went off and broke her nose. Had to get surgery and everything. Glad you're OK!

Yes it did the damm thing hit my hand. I really find it hard to believe that these things help. It hit my hand and it truly felt like someone hit my hand with a hammer. Two days have passed and my hand is still swollen.

there are 2 orange sensors under the hood, one on each fender under a plastic cover (I think) thats the bugger that lit the fuse on you. Disconnect the battery when you put the new one on.

to get the system active it will need more then a bag, the clock spring under the wheel will be roasted and the control unit is usually toast too, depending on the year the seat belt retractors could be blown, which ever sensor that hit may need replacment too
