If anyone is interested, you can get one of my chips with Fedex shipping included for $189.
Sales have been almost dead since July, so I decided to see if this will get some of you interested in a chip.

One of the best performance modifications you can do to your car. Highly recommended upgrade. Mark's chip is one of the best.

ditto, not only a performance gain but you usually get a couple mpg better to boot

Hey Mark,
Any progress on the -380 DME chip yet? It's the one for my '89 325iC.

Hi Jon,

I've started work on it, and expect it to be ready in mid-October. I have so much to do, I only work on the new projects for a few hours each day.

You will have to move up to 91 octane or higher. It depends on the state of your motor, some may need 92 or 93 if they are carboned up. You will notice increase low-end torque and hp, better throttle response, and almost always, improved fuel economy.

Hi Edwin,

the 99 has OBD-II and there is no "chip swap" for that, it needs a software download. I can program the 528, but only in Toronto.

mikedev10,
I have a '90 535i with Mark's EAT chip and found it very worthwhile. I can't really tell any difference between a gas mixed for approx. 90 or 91 octane and the 93, though. They both seem to work well, no pinging and good performance. If you get one, just experiment a bit with octanes over 90.
And, yes, increased gas mileage, approx. 2 mpg with the chip.
I am looking forward to one of his wonderful chips for my 325i now.
Pretty easy install, too.

if i get antsy in the spring and install a turbo on this thing, will the chip need to be swapped back to stock?

You will need a chip that has even less timing than stock in some areas.

Hi Mark

I'm definitely still interested in a chip for my 10/93 530iA now I have the damage caused by the oil pump coming off all fixed up.

I sent you an email yesterday to confirm.

I just got a 94 540i and it rides like ****! It shakes after 50 mph and is really just a rough ride. i know a chip wont help that but I'd like to get one. Then I can get the car to shake faster and pay more for premium unleaded. yay!

Anyway - what else are some good "first things" to do to this car? I haven't really looked into anything yet, but my sound system is almost done :) !

I have 91 525 with about 210,000 miles, I assume the chip would do nothing but good for the engine. Ever hear of problems with higher engined models? If not, I will buy one.

No problems specifically with higher mileage motors, but one person in CA with a 535 said he heard a bit of pinging. I figure it's do to the gas in CA and his car, as other people in CA don't have any trouble.

Pinging can sometimes be a problem in the M50tu also, even without a performance chip.

I've done a bit of work on it, but it's not yet finished. It will probably be another 4 weeks.

Sounds like you have the dreaded (but common) worn out thrust arms. If it shakes from 50-60 and gets worse when you first brake at those speed,99% chance that's what's wrong.

Sounds like you're new here, so I'll say welcome and suggest you become familiar with the "search" feature on this forum. It's one of, if not THE best on the web.

I've been busy with other work, and the main problem is I don't have a stock chip from a 95 530iM to develop from. Those cars are almost non-existent in Toronto. Please send me an email so I can contact you, I know I have one here from you somewhere but can't find it.
