The Racing King kit is nice. Bruno includes a nice harness you can quickly plug in or you can use the Martin Bacon, Genius, custom method.

Martin's got some numbers for his with old setup. I have yet to run mine through. Maybe we'll arrange a dyno day sooner or later. We'll let Craig and his turbo blow us right out the side door....

I'll be on the dyno in about a month or so (heading to Hawaii from the 30th until the 9th). I hope to get the turbo and manifold bolted up this weekend, then I'll measure the downpipe and have it fabbed up. That's probably all I'll have time for before the trip, after that I'm planning to have a muffler shop connect the downpipe to the stock exhaust. Depending on how long that takes I anticipate being on the dyno around Oct 16th if possible.

I'll be renting it for about an hour, if you guys want to hop on let me know. I think I'll go up to Tiny Monsters in Marysville- Carb Conn wants $145 just to put the car on the dyno, that's not counting actual dyno time at $95/hr on top of that. No thanks.

You guys are funny...to answer a few questions:

- where did the wires go? The mockup had a *lot* of extra length that was cut out, that's for sure. And the MAF adds a whole new wrinkle in that you have run 12 volt power and a set of 4 wires to a controller box in the cabin. You can see these wires in the top picture running over the coolant tank. Obviously, this complicates everything as you now have to homerun wires to a 3rd location AND splice into the harness to feed the DME.

Martin's genius is that he basically figured out a way to run all the extra MAF wires into the stock runs. The MAF harness now replaces the stock AFM wire runs that go into the injector wire tray and then out the back into the main engine harness. It's here that the MAF specific wires split off and run along the back of the engine bay underneath the stock cable tray and over to the fuse box where power is picked up and the controller box wires are punched thru the firewall.

Some of the nice touches he did included really beautiful splices into the factory DME harness (crimped, soldered, shink wrapped) that are all hidden in the tray. We should have taken a picture of this (messy) stage. He also used black factory wire cover from the MAF to the tray that was salvaged when he removed some extra marker light wires from his car. Makes the wires look absolute factory.

If you purchase the kit from Bruno, he puts together a really nice E32/34 specific harness that pretty neatly & simply plugs into the factory wires but it's not as clean as this setup. However, it is *much* better than my mockup wiring.

- zipties? Aren't they made in China or some place? Modern day duct tape if you ask me! Love the things!

- clean engines? I drop my car off at Martin's once a week and he has several trained squirrels that toothbrush off the entire engine. :D

- dyno day? Hey Craig...I'd love to tag along and something outside of carb conn sounds good. I have the same feeling as you do about their prices. CCA is running their novice day on the 17th at Bremerton and I have to work that day. 16th is good or the next weekend would be really good... I'd very much like to get the car on the dyno and see what it does(n't) do. Be fun to get everyone together....

Anyone interested in seeing some pics of the MAF controller? I can try to take and post some if interested.
