Anyone try the PIAA Bulbs?
http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-9000.html

Will using these create to much heat?Burn out too quick, or should I just go with Bruno's 9005 modify? Or better yet the (9005 modify with these bulbs)?

Some think PIAAs are the best. Most people are happier with Silverstars (except that they burn out too fast). I think the color both bulbs put out is great but still most people hype all the bulbs up. I bought $10 eurolite hyper-white cheapos and they have lasted 2yrs+ w/no problems and they are comparably OK. I have just installed HID 8300K 2 days ago and I tell you, it's worth it! Forget the subtle differnece between Xtreme white bulbs vs.stock....a true HID system will blow it away...no hype!

There is no substitute for euro headlight... that is the minimum I would do... or buy new lens... the old lens are just too pitted.

About $400 for the euro lights and another $600 for HIDs

I had the PIAA blue bulbs, H4 in my E-28... I dunno if it was the Hella light or what, but I could not see crap w/ them... replaced them w/ a generic white bulb and I've had a little more light.
Did you read Daniel Stern's site?

I've just ordered a set of Euro lights as one of mine cracked this weekend... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7922103928
...we'll see how they turn out.

Stern sells the new HIR light bulbs. They are not cheap but bright! I recommend you (you-all) contact Stern for information about these new bulbs. They are a little weird looking and require a very minimal dremel trim which they will do for $3 a bulb. I had trimmed Silverstar high beams in my low beams and now have the Silverstars in high beams and HIR in low beams. I'm really night blind and this has made a real difference.

I got the same bulbs, and they're great- I'd definately buy them again.

Do your research guys, you'll save money...I paid $220 for crystal euro lights (bigger shaped ellipsoids, built-in angel eyes) and $375 for a 8300K high quality HID kit with Hella ballasts. Under $600 for everything! It was some work to do the wiring but the difference to stock is night and day.

Wow! Who makes your euro? That's pretty much less than half of what I paid for mine 3 years ago... Where is that euro made in? I agree with you... the best investment you can make for our E34.

Excellent light... I don't like the blue though...I got the 4300K. My headlight is just white when you look at it...

As far as replacement bulbs, I've had good success with phillips vision plus. I think you can only order them from across the pond, though. (UK) Shipping's not too expensive.
